Brandywine Realty Trust, a premier commercial Class A full service real estate company with operations nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Corporate Accountant to work with our Financial Reporting and Corporate Accounting team. Based at our headquarters in Philadelphia, PA, the primary role of this position is to work with the Financial Reporting Manager to support accounting needs related to the monthly general ledger closing and management reporting processes.  

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of:

 

    • monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close, including general ledger account reconciliations and monthly executive reporting package
    • equity roll-forward monthly
    • weighted average share calculation monthly
    • general and administrative expense reports for management review
    • SEC filings and Supplemental Information Package for two SEC Registrants
    • SEC and REIT disclosure checklists
    • Annual joint venture GAAP financial statements
    • assist external and internal auditors with audit requests
    • prepare monthly payroll journal entries
  • Assist in the maintenance of entity acquisitions and dispositions within the Company’s accounting software
  • Perform special projects as needed, as requested by the Financial Reporting Manager, Accounting Manager, Controller, or other personnel.
  • Prepare the monthly reporting package for Executive Management
  • Prepare XBRL detailed tagging of financial statements and related footnote disclosures, including researching new US GAAP taxonomy elements

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four year college or university required.
  • Minimum 3+ years real estate and/or public accounting experience desired.

  • CPA preferred

  • Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint required.

  • MRI or other commercial property management accounting software experience preferred.

  • Experience with XBRL tagging and/or Webfilings/Workiva software preferred.

  • Individual should be self-motivated and have the capacity to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
